Interviewing a REALTOR®

You should interview the person who will sell your home. These are the questions worth asking, including of me.

Experience and local knowledge

  • How long have you been selling real estate, and is it your full-time work?
  • How many homes like mine have you sold in this area recently?
  • What is happening in my neighborhood right now: inventory, days on market, list-to-sale price?

Pricing

  • What price do you recommend, and which sales support it?
  • What happens if we don't get an offer in the first few weeks?
  • Be cautious of the agent who quotes the highest price without the data to back it up.

Marketing

  • Who takes the photos, and will there be a floor plan and video?
  • Where will my home be advertised, and how will you reach other agents?
  • Do you hold open houses, and do you recommend one for my home?

Communication

  • How often will I hear from you, and how: call, text or email?
  • Will I work with you directly, or with someone on your team?
  • How will you share feedback from showings?

The agreement

  • What is the length of the listing agreement, and can I cancel it?
  • What is your commission? (All commissions are negotiable.)
  • How will offers of compensation to a buyer's agent be handled?
  • What costs, if any, do I pay up front?

I'm happy to answer every one of these. Call or text 786-556-6446 or send me a message.
